The GA games are an in-depth and direct observation of the GA Universe. The story is told from the perspective of a male lead and gives you the option of following the story according to which Angel you would like to end up with. The game itself is seperated into two sections. The ADV or Adventure Parts where all the conversation happens. At this time you are sometimes given the option to explore the ship and can see several of the different characters in different environments. Along with exploring the ship, your character will also be presented which occasional choices. Depending on how you respond to different questions or how you interact with someone, your relationship will change with a certain or several of the Angels. These decisions ultimately decide which Angel you'll end up with at the end of the game. Special CGs and FMVs will also all take place during the ADV portions of the game. The other part of the game is the Simulation Mode. Here, you are put in the place of the commander and left to control the Angels in battle. In most cases, you do not physcially control any of the ships themselves. As a commander, you are set to tell the Angels commands like who to attack, to protect someone, or to sipmly standby on a certain section of the map. Decisions here will also marginally effect your game. Aside from the potential option of getting a Game Over, losing an Angel in battle can also decrease their affection towards you. In GA:EL for the PC, there's an option for the user to control the Frame itself upon the game's completion. This system was permanetly added in for the GAII games but the piloting aspect was removed. As opposed to fully controlling all aspects of the ship like in GA:EL, the player will merely control the weapons system of the ship while the computer will auto-pilot.
